If you wish to appeal against a Penalty Fare you must do so in writing within 21 days of the Penalty Fare been issued and send it to the appeals address on the Penalty Fare Notice.
The appeals body is independent to Northern and adheres to an agreed Code of Practice in the assessment of all appeals. The independent appeals service will consider all the facts presented to them on appeal and notify the appellant of the outcome.

If you are unhappy with the outcome of your appeal then you have the right to appeal that decision on two further occasions.
