The train operator that cause your initial delay are responsible for ensuring you are compensated in line with there delay repay scheme or passenger charter policy.
At Northern we operate a industry defined delay repay scheme approved by Transport Focus that entitles any customer that travels with a train ticket on Northern to compensation if they arrive at there destination 15 minutes later than scheduled regardless of fault. This scheme is also available to season ticket holders.
Our dedicated delay repay portal allows customers to create a personal account. From here customers can submit claims and track there progress to completion, request that any compensation due is paid directly to their bank account or refunded to a debit or credit card. You should only claim delay repay compensation from Northern if we are the cause of your delay and you complete your journey by train and are delayed by 15 minutes or more, our delay team are only able to process these type of claims.
